Suspicious cafe fire in Craigieburn

FRV firefighters were called to Craigieburn this morning, following reports of a shop on fire in Elevation Boulevard about 5.15am.

The shop in question was a cafe located in a group of six businesses and crews worked quickly to gain entry and knock down the fire to prevent it from spreading.

They were able to get the blaze under control by 6.09am.

Crews remained on scene for several hours and used thermal imaging cameras to ensure there were no hidden hotspots.

The incident has been referred to Victoria Police for investigation due to possible suspicious circumstances.

Ambulance Victoria also attended.
