A crew from Dandenong Fire Station arrived on scene within three minutes and were met with a single storey weatherboard home that was fully involved.

They were soon joined by a crew from Hallam Fire Station on board a pumper; along with a Ladder Platform, another FRV pumper and CFA crew from Dandenong as well as a Command unit.

Wearing Breathing Apparatus for protection, firefighters entered the heavily smoke logged building to search for occupants and attack the fire.

Thankfully, no one was located inside the home that was ablaze.

Another crew swiftly evacuated three neighbouring apartments which were impacted by thick smoke.

Firefighters worked quickly to knock down the blaze, and brought it under control by 8:45am.

The Ladder Platform was used to extinguish hot spots on the roof of the house, which were difficult to access as the roof collapsed.

Firefighters believe the fire started under suspicious circumstances, and the scene was handed to Victoria Police for further investigation.
