FRV crews arrived to the 10m x 20m single storey brick warehouse just before 4am.

Wearing breathing apparatus for protection from the smoke, firefighters made their way into the building from three separate sites, and worked to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties.

Their efforts ensured the blaze was brought under control just under an hour after arriving on scene.

Firefighters remain on scene this morning working to completely extinguish the fire and identify any remaining hot spots.

The exact cause of the fire is still being investigated however firefighters believe it may have started under suspicious circumstances. The scene will be handed to Victoria Police.

At the height of the incident there were seven FRV firefighting appliances at the scene and around 30 firefighters.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics also attended to ensure the welfare of FRV crews.
