At 3.55am on Saturday 14 March, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Bardolph Street, Glen Iris after callers to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.
Firefighters arrived on scene within six minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from a two-storey brick townhouse and quickly escalated the response.
FRV crews in breathing apparatus using hose lines worked to contain the fire, which had spread from the ground floor to the roof space.
The occupants of the home had self-evacuated prior to firefighters arriving on scene.
Crews successfully extinguished the fire, with the incident deemed under control at 4.42am.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to assist FRV operations.
The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be investigated by Victoria Police.
