Crews arrived to the Ripplebrooke Drive property just after 7am, and were met with smoke coming from the roof of a single storey brick home.

Wearing breathing apparatus for protection, crews entered the building and got to work containing the fire as the gas and power were isolated.

Their efforts ensured the fire was brought under control within just 25 minutes.

Crews remain on scene as they work to completely extinguish the fire, and monitor for any remaining hot spots.

At the height of the fire there were seven firefighting appliances on scene, including a rescue and an aerial teleboom along with a Command unit.

FRV was also supported by Victoria Police, and Ambulance Victoria.

Firefighters believe the fire may have started under suspicious circumstances, and the scene will be handed to police for further investigation.
