Approximately 30 firefighters responded to a house fire in Glenhuntly early on Friday morning.

Multiple callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire on Booran Road around 3:10am, and said the house was well alight.

FRV crews arrived on scene in five minutes to find the rear of the house fully engulfed in flames.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters attacked the blaze, setting up water lines to stop it spreading to the roof.

The house was unoccupied at the time and a further internal search confirmed nobody was inside.
