Suspicious house fire in Melton

FRV crews were called to the Alexandra Street incident just after 4.22am after several callers to Triple Zero (000) reported black smoke and flames coming from the house.

Firefighters arrived on scene in four minutes to find the house fully alight.

Wearing breathing apparatus, they attacked the fire and it was declared under control within 20 minutes.

Nobody was in the house at the time of the fire.

Firefighters determined the cause to be suspicious.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria also attended.
