Firefighters responded to a house fire in St Albans on Thursday evening after a caller to Triple Zero (000) reported visible flames and loud bangs.

FRV arrived on scene within three minutes to find the house fully involved in fire.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked to quickly control the fire using water hoses to contain the fire to the home and stop it spreading to neighbouring houses.

Fortunately, there were no occupants inside the house and the incident was declared under control just after 11:30pm.

Firefighters remained on scene after the incident was brought under control to ensure the area was safe.

The fire was deemed to be suspicious and was handed over to Victoria Police.

Ambulance Victoria were also on scene assisting FRV.
