Therry St apartment fire brought under control

Fire Rescue Victoria Firefighters responded to an incident at the Therry Street Apartment Complex just after 7:15am this morning as a result of an automatic sprinkler operation with additional advice from Ambulance Victoria that an apartment was on fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene within 3 minutes of receiving the alarm, finding a fire located on the 6th level of the 8 storey apartment building and worked to quickly extinguish and confine the flames to the bedroom.

Firefighters and Victoria Police worked to evacuate residents from the building and Ambulance Victoria were also on scene to assist with crew and community welfare.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and Victoria Police will investigate further.
