Thirty people evacuated in Prahran pub fire

Approximately 25 FRV firefighters responded to a fire in Prahran on Monday afternoon.

A caller to Triple Zero (000) reported the fire in the kitchen of a pub at 1.05pm.

Crews arrived at the Williams Road address within five minutes.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the kitchen had spread to the roof of the building.

Crews immediately escalated the response.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the building.

Crews worked together to knock down the fire, attacking it in the building and from above using aerial appliances.

Firefighters brought the fire under control shortly before 1.55pm.

More than 30 people safely evacuated during the incident, with Victoria Police members assisting with the evacuation.

Firefighters remain on scene to fully extinguish the fire and make the scene safe.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics also attended the scene.
