Toorak house fire under control

Approximately 29 firefighters attended a house fire in Toorak tonight that threatened to engulf the entire three storey structure.

Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus and carrying hoses entered the brick and timber house and worked to identify any possible persons within and suppress the blaze. Multiple searches determined there were no occupants in the property.

The scene was brought under control within 25 minutes at 7:13pm with the fire successfully prevented from spreading to nearby homes.

Five Pumpers, a Rescue Unit and a Teleboom were assisted by three specialist and support vehicles. 

FRV was supported by Victoria Police with cause yet to be determined.
