A caller to triple zero (000) reported flames and smoke issuing from the back of a property.

Firefighters arrived on scene just seven minutes later, accessing the fire through a locked front gate.

They located a fire that had taken hold of a pile of assorted industrial rubbish, which was the size of two shipping containers.

Approximately 30 firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control within approximately half an hour.

Specialist rescue operators had to cut through the side of a container so crews could access the seat of the fire and ensure it was completely extinguished.

Two workers who had been in an office area that became heavy smoke-logged were transferred into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics as a precaution.

At the height of the fire there were seven firefighting appliances on scene including a rescue and an aerial appliance, in addition to three other FRV units.

WorkSafe and the EPA have been notified, and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
