Truganina home in flames on Christmas day

Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to an incident on Khan Ct in Truganina just after 3:40pm on Christmas day, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000) reporting a house fire.

Firefighters arrived on scene in 6 minutes to find smoke and flames issuing from a double storey brick home.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the burning home to ensure that no people were inside and worked quickly to extinguish the flames, containing the fire to the garage.

This incident was deemed under control at 3:57pm, 10 minutes after FRV arrived on scene.

No injuries have been reported.

The fire was allegedly started in the garage before beginning to spread to the second floor of the home.

Both the garage and part of the second floor of the home have been damaged in the fire.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.

Crews will remain on scene to monitor for hot spots and ensure the scene is safe.

CFA, Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to assist.
