FRV responded to a fire in Brighton just after 5:30am on Friday morning, after multiple calls were received by Triple Zero (000).

36 firefighters arrived at the Outer court address to find a two-storey building issuing thick smoke.

The building was locked and firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, worked to gain access to the property and quickly to attack the fire.

Several neighbouring properties were under threat due to the smoke plume direction, and FRV ensured each was protected while the fire was being attached.

The fire was brought under control in 35 minutes.

A community warning was given for local residents to stay indoors and avoid the roads surrounding the area.

Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria assisted on scene.
