Unit fire in Reservoir

Approximately 26 FRV firefighters responded to a unit fire in Reservoir early on Thursday morning. 

Several callers to Triple Zero (000) reported the unit on Griffith St was fully alight, around 6:00am. 

Crews arrived on scene to find the unit, in a block of eight, was engulfed by fire and has spread to the common roof space. 

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters worked aggressively to contain the blaze and prevented it from spreading to the adjoining units. 

They brought the fire under control in 20 minutes. 

The unit was unoccupied at the time and the fire has been deemed suspicious.
