FRV crews arrived at Middleton Street within five minutes to find a 3m x 4m garage fully involved in the blaze.
Crews conducted an external attack on the fire and worked to prevent it spreading to neighbouring structures.
The fire was declared under control 15 minutes after FRV crews arrived and there were no injuries reported at the scene.
At the height of the incident there were six firefighting appliances at the scene, along with a command unit and three additional units.
The fire is believed to be suspicious and the scene has been handed over to Victoria Police to investigate.
Ambulance Victoria also attended the scene.
