Firefighters arrived on scene in 6 minutes to find a single storey brick house heavily involved in fire, with the flames impacting the tiled roof of the property.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames for over 30 minutes, bringing the incident under control at 7:53am.
Extensive damage has occurred to the property from the flames entering the roof space.
The local Building Surveyor will be attending to check the structural integrity of the home.
The occupants of the property, a family of five, were woken this morning by a working smoke alarm to discover the rear of their home well involved in fire.
All occupants were able to safely self-evacuate prior to FRV arrival.
